The School Farm

The statement that St. Peter’s is a special school cannot be overemphasized. We have a great farm called St. Peter’s Family Farm. The St. Peter’s Family Farms continues gradually gaining momentum but we are yet to be rich farmers but very soon. The advantage of having this farm is not only to make money but also to help students and staff understand the national concept and I quote: ‘Grow what you eat and eat what you grow.’ We thank Jammeh Jilanka for expounding this great vision.

In our farm we have bananas, oranges, lime, cashews in their numbers, palm trees, coconuts trees, paw paws, cassava etc. We are also experimenting with pigs, goats, chickens and ducks. Thanks to the Heart for Gambia Foundation, a Deutch NGO for their support.
